| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| This slug was photographed near Cowles Bog in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore Park, not sure of the ID at all. I've never seen a slug of this color here, before or since. It was about 4-5 cm long. The only thing that sort of fits is Deroceras agreste, which can be yellow, but I'm really nowhere near being sure of that ID. Any ID help would be appreciated. |

Great Macro shot John,
I must say the clarity and detail are magnificent. The exposure is just right and the colours are eyecatching. I can't say I would have ever thought I would be saying nice things about a slug, but you did a fine job on this image.
I'm not sure of it's ID but I have plenty of them every summer that like to feed on my rhubarb and Rosie's flowers. I wage a real battle with them every year.

Hi John,
That looks like a banana slug to me.
We have them in our redwood forests here in Northern California.
I have no idea if they also live in Indiana, or if it is a different species.
Good luck on the ID.
