[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This little fellow is nomadic in that they search erratically for their preferred food choice which is conifer seeds. Often u find them in or near conifer trees... You may see them and then never see them again for several yrs...
He looks like a little old man to me..

Am relatively new to the site and still not quite sure how things work here..

Hi Jane,

Very nice capture of Red Crossbill in quite strange lookin action. Good composition, colours and sharp details.

Thanks for sharing

A warm welcome to TN, Jane.
What a beautiful little bird. Love the color. : )
I really like his fluffed up feathers (no doubt to ward off the cold), and the snow on his beak.
Excellent low POV (point of view).
Great pose.
Thanks for sharing. : )

Hi Jane,

A warm welcome to TN, wonderful shot of this little Red Crossbill, beautiful detail and wonderful colours, well framed and composed, look forward to seeing more of your work, all the best.

Cheers Rick :)

Welcome to TE Jane :-)
A lovely small little bird you're showing us here !
The feathers come out very well and make me feel the cold ...
Greetings, Mike

Jane,

Nicely captured, this one definitely looks a bit tired...
I think the reason you don't see them for several years is that they will migrate south if cone crops are not that great up north. Their migration or relocation for the winter depends highly on that. TFS,

Best Regards,

Martin

Jane, this is an outstanding image. You did a great job capturing this. Have a great day. Bill
