Purple finch uncommon in wooded and brushy areas..They usually travel in small flocks.. They forage for seeds, Fruit, and insects..They are stockier than House finch with overall different shape, shorter and relatively large head.. The adult male has bright red head..
They often visit feeders.. |

Hi Jane , this is a very nice detailed image , and has very good color too , for composition it may have been better to have the crop to the other side so that the bird is not looking off the frame.
sometimes I like to ignor the rule of thirds too though ;-)
