| Rocky Mountain National Park. Notchtop just barely visible on the left at 12,300 feet (3761 meters) and Gabletop on the right at just about 12,000 feet (3669 meters)from Moraine Park on the Bear Lake Road. The river in the foreground is the Big Thompson River, funny that it is called the "Big Thompson", since it isn't that large. The Big Thompson further down from the park was the scene of a huge flood back in the 70's that killed almost 30 people, but outside of that this is just a small little creek. The headwaters of the Big Thompson is from Forest Canyon which is visible from Trail Ridge Road, Forest Canyon is more of a glacier carved valley between the long ridgeline that Trail Ridge Road is built on and the mountains to the south of it. Moraine park is a large open field close to the Beaver Meadows entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park |

There's so much serenity here. I could look at this for hours since it fills me with a sense of peace. I love the shadow and light and the landscape: mountains, water, grass, rocks, and sage(?).
You captured so much in this one photo and I could see this hanging up in a doctor's office or gallery...

beautiful raw wilderness my frined, somewhere to get lost in and maybe even find yourself. Great POV to show this dramatic scenery..wish i was there!
