[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Jackson's Chameleon
Chamaeleo jacksonii

Originally from Africa, this species was introduced to Hawaii back in 1972. It's population status was thriving on several of the islands up until 1994 when the islands experienced a 2 year drought and their numbers declined. Today the Jackson's chameleon numbers have climbed since.

A beautiful specimen in a characteristic branch gripping stance Paul, captured in sharp focus, exhibiting its roving eyes, one on the photographer, the other on the heavens. The OOF green BG emphasizes the fine lines of the chameleon and draws attention to its prehensile tail. Good study indeed!

Aloha, my friend, : )
Every time I see a manifestation of you on TN, I never know where you may be hailing from, and that always brings a smile to my face. : )
I just LOVE the pose of this chameleon.
What a fantastic POV... the showing of the throat, the three horns facing up, the dainty crossing of both front and hind legs, the telltale spiral of the tail.
How do you do it?
Superb focus, exposure, DOF, and composition.
Bravo, and TFS. : )

Hi Dude who loves Frogs!

When I saw this picture I had to smile. The pose and the expression of this Chameleon are superb, it seems to behave like a King and to look down on us from his throne. This effect is well highlighted by the chosen point of view and the composition.

Kind regards

Markus
