[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Back on February 20 of this year, I uploaded an old photo that I took 31 years ago of a beautiful little native orchid, Cypripedium candidum. Today, for the first time in those 31 years, I revisited the site where that photo was made, and I am delighted to report that the species is still flourishing at the site where I saw it so many years ago, possibly even more abundant than back then.

This photo is one of the results of today's visit. I can't tell how happy it made me to see these flowers still growing like I remember them, as so many sites that I visited back in those years are now destroyed. Many thanks to the people who have worked to preserve this site.

Anyway, for some information about this plant, visit this site: http://www.fs.fed.us/wildflowers/beauty/cypripedium/cypripedium_candidum.shtml

John,
What a beautiful native orchid photo you have captured. Love the green and purplish pink colours in your very sharp and detailed image.
I'm guessing they were growing in a marsh type area? I have seen orchids in the past while hiking and they always seemed to be associated with water. Nice job!!
Ron

Bellissima orchidea, è un momento fortunato poter rivedere un fiore della propria giovinezza soprattutto se si tratta di un fiore non molto diffuso, bella la composizione, buona nitidezza, belli e naturali i colori. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Hi John,
Beautiful flower - orchids are fascinating!
I certainly understand you when I read your note - many of the sites I used to visit in the past are now gone and built :-(
