Hi Angy,

Sure, we all go thru periods like that - part of being alive and human I guess. Keep taking pictures of beautiful butterflies like this and that will help to cheer you up. This really is lovely with with wonderful colors and clarity. The wing markings are gorgeous. A nice setting and composition.

What a wonderful view of the underside of this butterfly. The light, colours and pattern look really fabulous here. Great sharpness too and I like its pose against the soft background. A fine composition too!

Time is little, but I cannot pass without leaving my comment and appreciation for this beautiful photograph. A most pleasurable sight. The soft coloured and almost fragile wings is really stunning. Whatever the correct nomenclature Angelina, this is an eye-pleasing macro capture of a fine b.fly strongly backlighted but still perfectly exposed, not an easily accomplished feat my friend. Your differential focusing reveals the underwing characteristics, also those of the contrasty lichens perfectly, but almost everything else is pleasantly out of focus, a nice effect indeed!

You're getting way too cool:-) 'Course it wasn't a far drive...there are days when I feel young at heart but then I wake and look in the mirror..and the best I can accomplish is a mediocre image which somehow passes for me being a pro...HA! You know better..I am just one of the guys...always dreaming of olden days...older times...and younger joints....

You've captured a true beauty here. I love the detail that clearly shows this beautiful butterfly. I can see you had to deal with tough lighting conditions but the full sun didn't stop you from obtaining a great shot. Very nicely done. TFS.

So blue you are is it?...well i like the idea of getting painted ladies to lighten your mood and you better gear up and get out here .....:)))this is a very cute one...i like the way you have got the PoV showing as if it's looking up at you, the lichens on the bark adds to the scene and the details on the wings very well picked up.The lighting is perfect and the muted BG sets off the subject.

Lovely shot of the American Painted Lady.
Its a great POV and I like the closed wing pose as it shows us the markings on the underside can be as lovely as those on the upper-side.
