Taken from South Park. Yes the real South Park, a large valley about 60 miles (96 kilometers) south west of Denver. surrounded by the Kenosha and Terryall Mountains to the east and the southern front range to the north and the Mosquito mountains to the west. It is home to the small but historic town of Fairplay.

Bald Mountain and Mt. Guyot is part of Colorado's front range mountains and are a dominant sight when one starts to drop out of Kenosha Pass on US 285 from the north. Bald Mountain on the left at 13684 feet (4184 meters) and Mt. Guyot on the far right at 13,370 feet (4088 meters). This photo was taken this past weekend and I spent the night just below and on the right side of Mt. Guyot. There is a mountain pass just to the right of Mt. Guyot that is just out of shot, when I get the chance I might try the drive, at least when I have money for gas and when the snow melts at it's higher elevations.

The Front range is Colorado's largest mountain range and is considered an anticlinal or fold mountain range. It consists of 6 peaks over 14,000 feet and dozens more at over 13,000 feet, in my opinion they are one of Colorado's least spectacular mountains. Mt. Guyot and Bald Mountain are on the southwestern edge of the Front Range

beautiful scenery, TFS Ori

Hello Paul
A very interesting view of this wonderful country. Colours are great and the light is perfect
Well done
regards
Claude

Hi Paul,
A great wide angle view that doesn't really do justice in this small format. But, when I get much closer to the screen, it makes a huge difference. The gradient from warm colors to cool colors is beautifully captured. I love the side light and the golden touch on the snow.
TFS,
Niek
