Old Faithful

| I was disappointed with the sky when I went out shooting in the park on this particular day, but I think the cloudy sky works well in this image and constrasts nicely with the burst of water. Old Faithful is pretty spectacular!!! I used the curves tool in Photoshop to darken the image a little and add more contrast and mood, and I increased the saturation slightly. |

Hi Steven,
i'd take this kind of sky over a perfect blue one any day for this kind of shot. You're right about the contrast, the moody clouds really help create atmosphere. The exposure seems bang on the money too...i'd love to see Old Faithful, nicely done!

(is it really as regular as they claim??)
very dramatic scene, those clouds really help add to this
Hi Stephen,
I know what you mean with a disappointment in the sky. I had a similar experience, but had the luck to return a few days later with a clear blue sky.
I also agree that this sky works perfectly in this photo.

Hi Stephen,
I only know about gaysers from photographs and books. I hope I will have a chance to see an eruption one time in future.
Steam of the gayser and the cloudy weather went along well. I think if it was a clear day you will have an ordinary photo. I like this version better. TFS
