Hi Howard,
This is a much impressive document. I have never seen this insect at this stage... This macro lens you have is wonderful! I should equipment myself with a good macro, this is one thing that I don't have. Details are so amazing that we feel we can almost touch the nymph. The picture in WS is very well done and interesting too. Congrats,
Claudine

How impressive and CLOSE this is Howard, it is incredible. Not only is it very very close but the dof is also impressive, the whole nymph is sharp. And I like the leave (oak?) that you used to put the little creature on. I had seen nymphs once and they were darker. Isn't it amazing that the small wings are already forming? Thank you, another superb shot and interesting notes,
Francine

Hello Howard,
You're right: we concentrate too much on the adults and ignore the juniors. This is a great well taken close macro of a dragonfly nymph and for me the two additional views in the WS are just as worthy. All three images are sharp with a superb DOF and are educational in showing us what dragons look like when they are young.
Thank you for this fine contribution.
Have a good sunday,
Ivan

Beautiful shot Howard,
I've seen these many times while exploring ponds and marshes, but never viewed them up close and with so much detail as this image displays.
Wonderful photo in every aspect. Love your WS images equally as well. Great notes!!

Hi Howard
An absolute awesome post!!! All the 3 photos are amazing!
This is indeed a worthy presentation for the "unseen" life of a beautiful dragonfly. One must understand the entire process so that they would fully appreciate these amazing creatures.
The details from all of your 3 shots are outstanding and the way you've managed to render the texture and colors is fantastic!
I will surely learn a lot from this. Thank you, my friend!

How big / small is this baby Howard?
Three excellent photos (I prefer the frontal view) and you show the nymph so clearly.
And very interesting notes too,

Hi Howard,
that was a good idea, getting the larva out of the water for a head-on shot. You show the transparency of the body well. You give me some idea here. Despite your declaration I wait for your first garden pond underwater shots.
Best regards
