One thing that fascinates me about grasshoppers is their amazing variation of color. This one is rather drab.
Interesting fact:
Grasshoppers as food...
In many places around the world, grasshoppers are eaten as a good source of protein. In Mexico for example chapulines are used as a snack or filling. It is found on skewers in Chinese food markets, like the Donghuamen Night Market.
Raw grasshoppers should be eaten with caution, as they can contain tapeworms.
