Hi Bob, fascinating composition with fantastic mountain growing up out of clouds, superb light, very well done, ciao Silvio
Hi Bob
A lovely posting - reminiscent of Markus' (Heaven) work. I loke the window you have created/seem here. The image has a wonderful atmosphere.
Many peaks in the Mediteranean Basin are like this - though mostly limestone, but the effect is the same.
The Chinese have used animals as earthquakes warning systems for many years - especially dogs. Many other cultures, considered by the West as 'less developed' have also used this knowledge. We tend to have a rather arrogant attitude to this type of thing, which has saved people's lives for years.

A remarkable peep-hole landscape taken through the clouds. Great lighting and composition with the shady triangle in the FG. Good one from your archives.
Interesting note too.
I remember seeing this type of granite in Yosemite when I was there eons ago and this shot is a fine and discreet reminder.
Thanks for stirring up the old brain cells again Bob,
Ivan

Awesome mystic photograph, Bob! Unique way of capturing the snow laden hill. These are few scenic shots, which set the highest & most ideal standard for us to follow.TFS.

Hi Bob,
I have scenes like this. They are very beautiful when it's a mountain you are familiar with and very disappointing when they are mountains you wanted to see. This is the only kind of glimpse I got of the Grand Teutons. Lovely view of Granite Mountain seen clearly through the sky hole.

Hello Bob,
Amazing capture of this white granite mountain sticking up through the cloiuds. Excellent POV and beautiful light and colours. Very interesting note too!
I just wonder where you were when you captured this? You must have been pretty high up yourself!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Now this is a photo I'd love to have hanging on my wall! Talk about emotion, charged energy, and composition!
Bob, I love your work, you know that, but there's something about this photo that compells me to keep coming back - this is by far one of my favorites of yours.
There's something haunting, like something is going to come out of the mist or a sense of isolation and forsaken beauty...

Hi Bob!
In your last critique on one of my pictures you were talking about dreams that pictures may evoke: this picture could be part of my dreams...
No need to say more...

I'm confused as to how this one slipped through the net!
Anyway...you once again used nature to create art Bob, not an easy thing to do. Most can document it well enough, but to show it off to it's best takes skill and heart. Well done.

I am sure you shall not mind for my weekend survey. Such visual and story can be produced by you only. Frankly to say, I enjoy your country through these great visuals.

It's nice to get moments like these were your in the fog and suddenly it opens up and you get a view, and then it disappears. Although slightly grainy, but still nicely done! Thanks for sharing! Cheers Josh Lewis.

Hello Bob. This is like a shot from space. The mist is very well spotted with the opening just enough for a good peek at the peak. I like this dreamy shot and thanks for sharing. Very creative indeed - Best regards. Jusni

Hi Bob,
invitingly pleasant picture, presenting a hole in the morning mists like an entry into mystery. Of course I thought of seeing late snow on the peak, so thanks for the notes on white granite. Fascinating story about the researches going on there.
With thanks, and best regards,
Peter

Hi Bob,
The window in the fog is a natural frame to the Franson Peak and is an asset to the composition. The quality of the light is enhancing the colors. Well done, have a nice day.

Hi, Bob,
wow, this is a beauty!! great composition - it is like turning to the first page of the story book - giving the readers some clues about the adventure ahead. thanks for sharing.
btw, many thanks for your comment at my Climbing Bauhinia.
I know that is not a popular photo as the Bali Mynah I posted the day before. I have been waiting to see who can appreciate the artistic value of this photo - and I am really glad to see the comments from you and a no. of others.
frankly speaking, I like the Climbing Bauhinia photo more than any birds, insects or sky photos I have posted before. Simply b'cos, this is exactly the way I see nature, which always gives me surprises and happiness : )
have a nice day!!
chrs,
Man Yee
