Very artistic shot Bob, reminds me of Easter Island.
Nice sharp image with an array of colors. The three green shoots to the right of the rock add a special touch to this beautiful scene. Well done!

Hi Bob
At first galnce this looks like a 'menhir' - standing stone - well composed with excellent use of lighting.

Hi, Bob,
this is a very interesting photo - I love the contrast between the dark, seasoned hard rock vs.the three fresh green plants at the back. thanks for sharing this wonderful photo : )

Hi Bob,
I like the isolation caused by the shallow depth of view. The OOF FG and the slightly blurred BG allow for the eye to stick with the subject. The concern I do have with this photo is that it feels tilted to the right. The three flowers and tree in the BG seem to be running more vertical.
TFS,
Niek

hello Bob,
Very interesting posting again. You managed well the light-contrast, not easy with this dark rock. I also like the 3 Verbascum-flowers, in a line like little flower-soldiers .
Have a nice day

Hi Bob,
an interesting shot, especially with three plants lined up behind on the right...looks similar to the standing stones we have scattered around the country side left by our ancient ancestors.
Have you considered taking the same shot but late/early in the day? Or would location not allow this?
Cheers,
Paul

Hello Bob. The rock is well placed in the foreground exposing clear detail. I like the three green plants next to it confirming to the principle of three :-). Nice contrasting color with clever play with light and shadow. Well done. Jusni

Hello Bobshannon.org. Interesting video and I love the music with all those birds singing on it. They thrilled me.
And the moon is crooked - it's not sitting up the right way - the right way being how we see it down under.
Now, about this pic - wouldn't it be good to find out where it came from? It would interest my Geo tech son very much. In some areas of NZ we have some farmland covered in these volcanic stones - many walls are built from them in certain areas.
Thanks for sharing
Janice

Bob,
Lovely B/G music of bird calls on the video. The whole presentation has been done with taste.
HIGHLY EDUCATIVE TOO.
This is an "OUTSTANDING" image showing the nature of the rock MOST CLEARLY. Loved it.
