Panther Creek Falls

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Today I went out to Panther Creek Falls for the first time. It was well worth the trip but between the lighting and places to safely stand made it very difficult to photograph. To get this angle on the falls I had to hand hold and set the camera on a log. There are also some very nice spots on Panther creek just before it flows over the edge producing a 100 foot high horetail witch you see on the right side of the falls. The entire left fan portion of the Falls is spring-fed with water emerging just below the rim of the canyon. I will be posting some shots of the creek in the next couple of posts.
Thanks for looking and hope you had a good weekend.

Tom,
Very nicely done! I'd say your efforts to get a decent shot of these falls really paid off. The composition, exposure time and overall setting is spot on. Great effort and great results. Well done.
Best Regards,
Martin

I always have a fondess for waterfalls and the soft context photographers like you make. This one is very nice - clear, colorful, one can almost hear the water falling. Thanks - David
Hi Tom,
Well worth your effort. The silvery lace that you have shown is great and to keep the camera still for the 3 seconds is not easy without the tripod. Well done

Hi Tom,
superb looking waterfall with an excellent point of view .The colours are natural and the image is sharply focused and reading your note about your using a log to steady your camera, worked out very well and the exposure time gave the water a pleasing softness which can only come from a long exposure.I like the look of the mosses in this shot,so green and alive just like in Janice Smith's (lovenature)photo upload of today. Thanks for sharing this special place with us all. Bob
This shot looks really good the way you've captured it, nice and soft. I would say it might need a little resharpening but I must say I kind of like the effect of a softer image in this case. I created a workshop just to compare,
