White Breasted Nuthatch
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A common bird of deciduous forests and wooded suburbs, the White-breasted Nuthatch can be seen hopping headfirst down the trunks of trees in search of insect food. It frequents bird feeders and takes sunflower seeds off to the side of a tree, where it wedges them into a crevice and hammers them open.

Kris,
I like the pose of this nuthatch in this shot however, I think it lacks a bit on the technical side. The few things that could be improved here are focus, sharpness and detail. I know it is always easiest to critique. Bird photography is not the easiest of arts but in the end, practice makes perfect. I find that to bring out good details of the plumage, the bird has to be close enough to 'fill' the frame. Of course it is easier said than done but I find it gives best results.
Best Regards,
Martin
