A Cana Island Monarch
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Although the monarch is scarely a rare butterfly, it is rare for me to photograph one of any sort. I've found them hard to find and capture. I think this is the first with my Canon. Today, though, I was lucky enough to find this one, feeding on a flower, and not flitting too fast, thanks, I suspect, to a breeze off Lake Michigan, which was only inches behind us in this shot. I was able to squeeze off several shots, and like this one best.
For a wealth of information on the monarch, check out www.monarch-butterfly.com
P.S. -- Take a peek up top on the stem -- I think we got a "twofer" with a ladybug. |

Hello Jim, this is good to see the monarch and ladybug on the daisy flowers together - ywo for the price of one!
They aren't always easy to catch, so well done
