South Lake Tahoe always seems to be known for gambling..but that is all on the Nevada side. The California side is known for nature, wilderness areas in which professionals have been lost, high mountains with lots of snow, the deepest lake and of course Pope Beach where we spent much of out time during summers.

I am standing on the edge of the beach as it slowly turns to harder ground....having been there so long ago, I cannot remember the name of the flora around. I am however facing west and Mt Tallac which is a well known site and beyond Tallac is the true wilderness..as in days of hiking to get through it, but wonderful views of the natural world untouched by most. Those mountains are HIGH as I am standing at 6200 feet at beach level...

Between that horizon series of mountains and I is a bird sanctuary which houses hundreds of Candian Geese, many of which stay here year around. As in all protected areas there is no trespassing onto the reserve. I would not however suggest it...as it is a bog and full of reptiles and creepy critters. Unless of of course your a Pro TN'er who does this type of thing for a living..

A wonderful sunny landscape Bob.
The distant mountain massive gives it perspective and the lighting is chosen by a professional. I am intrigued by the pink flowers in the FG, but then that's me...
TFS this beautiful and inspiring landscape.

Hello Bob,
What a lovely view of this landscape! I like the depth with the little flowers in the foreground and the misty mountains in the far distance. Nicely framed by the Pine trees too!

Beautiful scene Bob,
The composition is wonderful, and the colors and textures are very eye appealing.
I would never have guessed that you were standing on a beach when this photo was taken. You sure have some incredible images in your gallery taken with your Pentax. Nice job!!

We could not believe our eyes when we enlarged the thumb nail of this image, Bob. We were here in 1996 in the exact location in July, I believe.
GREAT COUNTRY!!!
We saw a rattler here; first we "heard" it.
Wish I had taken an image.
Thanks for sharing.
Mario with greetings.

Hi Bob

Another beautiful landscape from you, mate, and a location that brings back a lot of good memories :)
Even though i've been on the north shore, Tahoe was right there and i remember a lot of beautiful places and hiking trails.
This is a lovely view here and even if the entire vegetation isn't exactly as it was in the "wild days" the view toward the mountain is lovely.
Nice work, as always.

Bravo and TFS
Horia

I still have a lot of catching up to do, Bob!
As usual,a stunning shot! It's strange how you make a 22 year old shot look like it's today.
Very well done!
Goldy

Hi Bob,

The point of view leads our eyes toward the mountains in the background which is giving depth to the picture. The colors are enhanced by the quality of the light. A scenery which is giving a relaxation sensation. have a nice day.
