Jane and I took a long ride yesterday, despite her aches and pains. She was very much craving to go out and see the fall colours. On our way we stopped at a familiar place to sit and watch as Canadian Geese flew in formation back and forth overhead, not seeming to know which way to go if any...many stay here on the Trunbull.

Turnbull is full of pines and firs, other evergreens...but it has its share of Aspen and a few Maple here and there scattered about....as well as many types of shrub and brush.

Because much of Turnbull is fence as no trespassing, I had my camera high on a tripod. Actually the Canon HD video were on tripods next to each other. I have images and video, but decided to go with this one today from the Fuji. Asa I realize more and more how to use it, I am sure things will start to improve...not that this is bad actually I liked it quite a bit..although Fuji has a certain mode of taking pictures which are more 'square boxy' than rectangle...and the Canon HD, while only 3 MP does a 16:9 format.

Autumn is indeed the most beautiful season in your part of the world, Bob. The fall colors the nature adopts are soul-stirring.
I love the golden grasses and other vegetation colors in this wonderful composition.
Regards.

hello bob,
i dont know how but today before posting my shot i had this feeling that you will be posting near my post and i was surprised to see that we are neighbours, what kind of a bond have we developed or its just a coincidence? In any case i am happy to be near you and will get some more views to my picture for having you in neighbourhood.

You have presented the colors of fall so beautifully, i am sure that jane would have felt better after looking at this scene.the dry grass, the greens and the natural shades make it so beautiful well composed shot,
well done,
tfs & regards
pankaj

Beautifully done with the lone pine in the semi-foreground and that slash of Autumn's red behind it and a bit to the left. Personally, I love the texture that you caught in the grasses.

TFS another great image Bob.

I pray that Jane is feeling a bit better and experiencing less pain today. Take care... :)

Another gem of an autumn image Bob.
The lonely little pine stands out well against the dried grass and the multicoloured tree and bush BG.
It looks like the pine has a fungal infection: many of our have been affected especially when they are only a few years old like this one.
A great image: I hope Jane felt better after the trip: nature can have a therapeutic effect.

Hello Bob,
Another very beautiful autumn photo. The contrasting colours look splendid. The fence is a pity, but it doesn't disturb too much. Fantastic composition, POV and DOF.
Regards,
Peter

Hello Bob,
Ahother lovely early autumn landscape from your end of the world! Excellent DOF and details and the colours are wonderful. I like your composition although I would have cropped away a bit more of the grass and left more sky in the image.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hi Bob,

wonderful autumn picture with bright colors! tfs

Such a fine, pastoral fallscape Bob, the majestic trees in the background look so fine from here, beside the lone pine. Thanks for sharing this pretty image my friend.
Cheers,

Hi Bob,

This scene had to give Jane a boost. Remarkable colors in your part of the world - as Ram said. Perfect POV with the Lone Pine in just the right position for an excellent view of that bright red bush. The dried grass in the foreground and the row of trees under the cloudy sky all contribute to make this a gorgeous autumn scene.

Hi Bob!

It was a good idea to go out with your wife. The sun and the fine colours at least are balm for the mind. As far as the picture is concerned, there's nothing else to say than it's beautiful!

Kind regards

Absolutely beautiful Bob,
This could easily go up on our wall, looks like a fine oil painting. The colors are gorgeous and the composition is superb. The amber grasses, the reddish orange leaves and the pines reminds me of many areas I've traveled here in Ohio.
Ron

Hi Bob,

The lonely pine is guiding our eyes through the golden field toward the trees in the background. The diagonal line made by the trees is an asset to the composition. The colors are enhanced by the quality of the light. Have a nice day.

Pierre

Hi Bob, fascinating landascape with fantastic colors, wonderful composition with lonely pine, very well done, ciao Silvio

This is a nice sharp image with your new little camera. The colors look very natural and the sharpness is good. There are a couple of compositional ideas that come to mind... hindsight is always so much easier...! I try to take several images so if I need to add a bit to one side or the other I can stitch a bit on. I had to do that with today's post. In this one I would like to see less of the right and bottom sides, and more of the sky. Also, easier said than done, I would have liked the point of view higher or lower so as to set off the top of the small foreground tree against either the sky or the grass. I love the reds as a focal point. I totally disregard the photo ratio of the camera. I think each photo dictates its own ratio.
