This photo goes out to Joey for his love for nature!
This is a photo of a Chip Munk... or was it a squirrel? Anyways, and it was just sitting there eating. A nice photo oppertunity for me, but unfortunatly this was the only photo I could get.
About the Trip:
I got back home from school, and right as I was going to sit down and relax, my mother comes dashing by and says were going to the store. And as I get in the car, my mother puts a backpack with hiking gear in it... and I say "Whats going on.... ohhhhhh" because I instandly realize whats going on" So we round up my brother, and head out to Mount Pilchuck which is a 5,324 foot mountain. To me this was awesome because it was just a normal day, and suddenly out of nowere a hiking oppertunity comes. There was school the next day, and it was late in the day before we even got there, but you know, our family cannot resist a hike... or atleast when things are going well. Anyways, we get to the trailhead, and it smells fresh as it always does in these mountains. We started hiking through the same old woods as we have quite a few times before, but its always a joy. Later we get up to a good view point and get views of mountains all around, and finally come here with good weather, a good camera, and at the right time of day!
At one point, which is were I spotted the Chipmunk, I saw lots of blue berries, but were not ripe yet due to the heavy snow fall this year. We headed on to the summit which did not take very long since we started, after all, its just Pilchuck which my friends dad said when he did'nt bring his ice axe when it was snowy, but perhaps regreted it. The summit was great, Glacier Peak was clearing up, and the sun was almost to a set, and as we were heading out, it did det, but my camera ran out of power! This was very dissapointing because I never got my 360 panorama at sunset at the summit. But fortunatly for some reason if you wait a moment, you get a few sconds of charge, and I was able to get a mini panorama. Another fun trip at Mount Pilchcuk.
I edited this photo from the original to get a more realistic detail. First, I cropped it a little, but wanted some natural look to it. Second, I sharpened it to make the chipmunk stick out more. Also I slightly increased the saturation and resized it with picasa 3. Enjoy! :-) |
