[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this photo of a Green-headed Coneflower while up at Metzger Marsh. I was actually hoping for some bird shots, but I couldn't resist a shot of these pretty yellow flowers.

Cone flowers can reach a height of 10 feet if the conditions are just right. I know that the ones growing along the Tuscarawas River Bottoms in Navarre where I work, are way over my head. It's a beautiful sight to see a whole sea of yellow blooms growing along a secluded stream or river bed.

I am going out on a limb by guessing that these are NOT a part of the echinacea family but share a similar name and in some cases almost a close resemblance.....just a guess...but it also brings up a good question....I wonder now if there are some medicinal qualities t this as there are to echinacea? Good notion posting this one Ron....I am not to o old to learn something new!

Hi Ron,

It is wonderful seeing this trio in different stages. They are truly beautiful and I'm so happy to be introduced to them. I can't imagine how striking they must be in large clusters. Colors are gorgeous - fine details - marvelous background to set them off - a lovely composition.

Hello Ron,
Lovely capture of these beautiful Coneflowers in a fine composition. Excellent sharpness, beautiful light and colours and a nice dark background.
Many thanks and regards, Ulla

Hello Ron,

I think I've seen these here, didn't realize they were Coneflowers, thought they were Sunflowers. They look more Rudbeckia-like when the flower is just developing, more Sunflower-like in full bloom.

Nice composition and sharpness.

John
