An outstanding color.
The exposure is super, as the wing details are rendered without any burn-outs.
Great DOF resulting in a clean out-of-focus background.
Wonderful presentation of the insect with the wings nicely spread out.

A beautiful dragonfly captured with skill, Janice.
We have a similar one in Asia that goes by the name of Scarlet Skimmer.
This is apparently a male.

Hello Janice,

a nice picture of a beautiful dragonfly shown against a smooth and nicely coloured background.
The whole composition and the point of view are attractive.
A slight increase in depth of field (by f/8 to f/10) would have been advantageous.
