When going up Mount Adams, we went up the boulde field which for me was tough, not only was there a ways to go, but it was considerably windy and cold as well as altitude that made each step/ crawl a feeling of wanting to pass out and sleep. We started from base camp to the false summit which was done at night. If you think the way down is easy, you must be in really good shape, because for me it was either scrambling down slippy boulders which took a long time, or going down this ice that goes down a few thousand feet. I choose the ice because it was faster, but believe me it was no picnic of a glasade. I had to ice axe arrest every 3 to 5 seconds so that I would'nt loose control. In ways it was a bit frightening to go down, and if I lost my ice axe, things would be incredibly scary!! Not saying there was a cliff below, but there are boulders in the ice field you could easily run into plus the intense speed you would get until you reach the bottom, so thank goodness for ice axes. But it was worth going down. Half way down I decided to make a mini panorama. It does'nt look as steep here, but in other parts it was. For more on the hike click here and for more photo's, they can be seen here. Hope you like this one!

I did that Josh? Seriously? wow...thank so much for remembering me...I love my mountains....and every time I see one of your images..I am reminded..It should be me thanking you! My post today was more than likely done in response to your return and all and your wonderful mountain shots...as is Bob's in Alberta and others who have trekked these places so well...you are a small angel I'm sure...keep on what He tells you to do and no matter what...you will be in glory!
