I believe this is a coast penstemon or similar variety (penstemon serrulatus). I found it along the Multnomah Falls trail in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon.

Okay now Julie...It really is "MY" turn to use the brain, okay? I just posted my "purple flower" photo, this is just getting way too stange for words! Of all the photos we took that day, we choose the same photo on the same day to post just minutes apart! You sure we're not twins?? LOL

Anyway....about this photo, Your shot is so much closer than mine, and more bluish in color. I think you can see the inside of the flower better in this one also. Very nice.
