While on the trail back down from the Indian Heaven Wilderness, I spotted this bee sitting on the yellow flower. I almost passes him by thinking that by the time I turned the camera on and got down next to him, he would fly away. He didn't fly away and seemed to be just resting on this yellow flower.
I was very excited to get this opportunity to take his photo, I've tried before to capture insects with not too much success. I wish the focus was just a bit clearer though, but so far my best effort on an insect.

Excellent shot and well done on the composition.
Some call it the Redtail bumble bee, orange banded bumble bee.

Good one Lori. The Bumble Bee's come out well on the flower. I love his orange stripe and also your POV. Well done.
Hi Lori,
I think you did an excellent job on this one. Beautiful color and good detail. Nice Shot!

Good job Lori, you are on a yellow theme lately aren't you? I like this combination, the DOF is perfect on the flower and wings but not on the head. I would have no idea how to fix it however! Great post!
