At the Head of Long Slide Falls

When I first arrived at this spot, it was at the end of a long day of trekking in waterfall-rich Marinette County. I'd heard about this one, wanted desperately to see it, and got lost on the long expanse of dusty forest roads leading to it.
Then in one of those great bits of luck, I made it just as the sun was dipping low. I caught the upper stretch of these falls first. Later I found a path that let me get beneath the downward sweep of Long Slide Falls and look upward. (If you're on TE, too, you can see it there.)
In any case, this was a pleasing conclusion to a day well spent. Sights such as these are one reason why I'm a big fan of Wisconsin's Wild and Scenic Rivers program. |

I have an image very very simlar to this one done in the KANANASKIS COUNTRY, Alberta, about 21 years ago with a 35 mm film camera. Infact, I've frammed that result and adorned one of my walls in the house.
What I'm trying to say is: OUTSTANDING IMAGERY!!!
