[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Common Raven (Corvus corax) is found throughout western and northern North America. They live in a variety of habitats up to the tree line and even in some cities, however they are not as social as crows, rarely forming flocks. Exceptions occur at landfills and other abundant food sources. They are a large bird with a length of 61cm and a wingspan of almost 1.2m.

Very nice photo, colours and detail are phantastic!

Huge and attractive portrait of this bird from the Crows family, Chris.
I find its glossy feathers very interesting.
Despite the big size, every detail on the subject is needle sharp.
Well done and TFS.

Very good details/DOF and exposure of the black plumage Chris..
Nice closeup work my friend!

Hello Chris,

Wonderful balance of the whole. Very good details of the big bird's plumage, especially in a color so hard to handle. Very well composed, very good approach. Excellent contact with the eye of the bird, good frame.

Regards and TFS!

Hello Chris,
This is the closest close-up of a Common Raven that I have seen. The turned-head pose is perfect for the POV and the technical features are excellent including the black-tone management. A superb close portrait of the species!
Thanks, now I must try harder to get a shot near as good as this of the common Raven!
Cheers,
Ivan
