[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This appears to be my season for hover flies (thanks Ivan)...I was never particularly good at catching them with my Fuji DSLR or my Nikon DSLR, but the Leica glass is quite superior....After all it is the lens which Leica is known for..and when they went to Matsushita for the innards, they went to the best. Matsushita is the parent company of Panasonic. I was told about 30 years ago that anything Panasonic wanted to be made perfect had to be made by the parent company which only makes it's top end products. So here I am mixing perhaps the best known lens company with one of the arguably best electronics firms. It was a marriage made in Techno-Heaven.

I have left the PP work for Paintshop in order to also allow the EXIF data to be recorded on the pic so as not to mess with the notes..

From what little I am gathering, there are more sub species and versions of hover flies that even knowing it is a hover fly is a miracle thanks to Ivan. Although not quite perceptible..this one is still in the air slightly above and ready to land...AND I am open to any insect corrections from those of you who are pretty good at ID'ing...

Nice close-up of the Bachelor's Button with its Hoverfly guest (though not a dronefly). The blues of the flower combine nicely with the yellow of the hovefly, that you seemed to have captured in flight!
Good one Bob, it's not often we're neighbors!
Thanks,
Ivan

Hi bob,

Really nice fresh shot, The bluey violet of the flower really pops out at you. Good sharpness and details captured in the centre of the flower and the hoverfly.

Very nice.

Thanks

Ewan

Hi Bob,

And your season for blue flowers! The fly is a definite bonus but I like the flower which fills the frame. Fine details of the insect but I wouldn't know one fly from another.

Jane

Hy Bob
You know that I like most flowers, so, I can say that this blue flower is very well captured: the polen spread on the petals gives a very nice impression, also all the details are great!
Regards,
Oana

Namastay Bob,

Bob, thanks for your comment on my "Blue Mystery" flower. If mine is indeed a "Bachelor's Button" yours is far superior in all aspects! Great shot!!! Yes, the Leica glass makes a big difference. Although I have favored Nikkor lenses in the past, I did have an encounter with a Leica lens back in the early 60's. I kick myself in the rear for selling that camera! Good to see your work once again on TN. As I've transferred most of my work to TrekLens, I kind of miss TrekNature's personnel. But the two people I don't miss, the ones responsible for deleting 14 of my photos, are not alive or well on TrekLens. Plus, it offers a much bigger venue of posting different photos. Oh well, such is the world of photographic politics. Be well, and thanks again for the comment.

Hello Bob,
Excellent focus on this tiny Hoverfly circling around in what we call a Cornflower.
Once common in the fields, now nearly gone!
Wonderful colours and well framed.
TFS and kind regards, Ulla

Hi Bob,

The blur background is framing well the flower. The close-up view is showing the details and colors of the Bachelor's Button and of the Hoverfly. The intensity of the light is enhancing the colors of the flower. Have a nice day.
