Something cute for sunday - a rabbitlike mammal i was
able to capture on a 4-mile-walk through the J. N.
"Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel
Island.


The J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge is
located on the subtropical barrier island of Sanibel
in the Gulf of Mexico. The refuge is part of the
largest undeveloped mangrove ecosystem in the United
States. It is world famous for its spectacular
migratory bird populations.

J. N. "Ding" Darling is one of over 540 refuges in the
National Wildlife Refuge System administered by the U.
S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

Hi Thorsten, I think its Pika, native to cold climate and having burrowing habits. I am sure people at TN can correctly identify it.
Your shot is a really beautiful one. The sharpness and focus is so even. I like the details around its eyes. Very good use of the available natural sunlight.

Hi Thorsten. A cutepicture as you say of the Rabbit. Taken with fine detail andnatural colours. Good use of the light as it was in part shade. A shine in the large dark eye. well done TFS.
