Come sempre è uno scatto di gran qualità con cui ci mostri sempre in modo quasi poetico questi bellissimi paesaggi costieri. Molto bello il movimento fluido che sei riuscito a dare alle onde che diventano quasi fumo impalpabile nell'infrangersi sulla riva. Ottimi dettagli e gestione della luce.

Wonderful perspective you captured. But it would be nice if i could see the blue sky more balanced in the frame.

Thank you for your kind words on completing my third anniversary with TN!
This is a fine celebratory capture of Haystack Rock. The composition of the sea-grass covered rocks leading to the sea is great and the perspective is great.
The mistiness of the sea caused by the slow shutterspeed is very effective here though I don't usually like the steamy effect that slow shutterspeeds cause on running or moving water. here there is just wetness and haziness, which is great.

#300 huh? Well it has certainly been an interesting, educational and rewarding photographic road we've traveled these past years. Thank you for your important, reasoned, honest and calming voice on TN.

You know I love this image and think the sky/land ratio is just fine! I love the grand sweep out to the sea that the 10-20 produces. I think I like these slow shutter speed images because,like Ivan said, the water doesn't look like a steaming, bubbling witch's cauldron. It lends, instead a peaceful, ambiance to the scene. Lovely work.

Excellent and fine work here. Very clear and sharp image, well framed and great note. Beautiful blue colors on sky and BG. I also like the camera and lens effect.

I come back and i'm glad to see such amazing new work from you! Together with other friends (such as Ev and Paul) you've made me post a few again now :)
Firstly, congrats on your 300! I don't see any Spartans, but it's fine like this, too :))
Excellent work here with your full ND filter (and not only)! I love the effect on the water and the contrast it creates between it and the algae on the rocks. Very nice game of textures and, surely, a superb composition with mighty lead-in lines and a terrific focal point in the distance.
This photo exploits the beauties of this place and technique so well that it even managed to persuade Evelynn to buy a filter that makes water silky and smooth...and when i remember that it was she that didn't like this effect on streams ;) You really have some skills, mate!

Lovely work, again, and looking forward for more!

Wow I didn't know that.. I saw the one at Cannon beach but never thought there were other ones with the same name.
Anyway this one's a wonderful shot, your concept for composition works well (I'm fine with rocks/sky ratio). A very nice job, TFS!

Hi Niek,
an interesting variation on the previous shot of this place. You have achieved your usual clarity and technical brilliance. I love the tones, exposure and light here, it is almost dreamlike without becoming too unnatural.
Now, for the composition. I for one would disagree with Bayram about the blue sky here. True, it is a very nice deep blue, but i think you were wise to compose the shot the way you did. There is little real interest in the sky, aside from it's blueness. No clouds or variation in colour. For me the composition is about the wonderful foreground. Here i wondered if you could have perhaps moved slightly round to the left, to line up that small boulder in the middle of the frame with Haystack rock in the background? Of course, you may not have been able to position yourself to do this, so ignore me if this is the case.
Finally, congratulations on contributing 300 fine images to TN. Althought the pace has decreased, the quality hasn't my friend.
