Arch Rock, is located on Mackinac Island in Michigan. It is a natural limestone formation with a span of 50 feet and rises 149 feet above the blue water of the Straits of Mackinac. It is a highlight of carriage tours and one of the most photographed spots on Mackinac Island.
I was very surprised to see such a beautiful sight in Michigan - this almost looks like Hawaii but is many miles away from any ocean. Mackinac Island doesn't allow car traffic and you have to take a ferry to get to it. It is a lovely spot for a holiday weekend.
The image was scanned from a poorly printed copy (home printer!). I couldn't find the original digital image on my terribly organized computer. |
