In the 103 degree heat this guy looked like he was doing push-ups. Must be a Special Forces dragonfly. Actually it's a "Blue Dasher".

Excellent shot and well done on the composition and details.

I'm soo envious of all the colourful damsels and dragons you've got over there, and this one's no exception.
Nice and clean capture against an oof bg. Good handling of what seems like pretty harsh light.
What he's doing is called the "obelisque position". Pointing the tail towards the sun to expose as little as possible of himself to the sun - a cooling feature dragonfly fashion ;-))
