After the Rain
I posted this because of the amazing variety of colors exhibited in the field located on Galveston Island. I haven't the foggiest idea what type of plants they are but they seem to thrive on the Island. Hurricane Ike deposited a multitude of seeds across the Island and a variety of plants and trees are beginning to grow in yards and fields everywhere. Few trees were spared as the storm surge saturated the soil with saltwater. Chainsaws can still be heard from one end of the Island to the other as massive oaks and other trees are being felled so we are grateful for any colorful diversions to be found. Although, we have been blessed with a wide assorment of wildflowers all Summer.

hello Jim,
This landscape must be superb to cross. All these fine autumnal tints, it would enchante every painter on earth. Difficult always to make this kind of pictures in a small format, because it isn't possible to show all the nuances of colors. But your picture suggests them, I like a lot.
Kind regards
Anne

Hi Jim. It looks as if they could be some type of Heather but i may be total wrong. Its just the shape and the colours that make me think this. Well seen and taken TFS,
Nick..
Hi Jim,
It is quite unimportant - which plants they are - the pastel colours ARE the image.
This photo is beautiful- just like a French Impressionist painting from the late 19th century.
It is quite amazing, how the high speed, which you used for your photo sort of creates "brush strokes"...
The water in the background together with the water in the foreground form a natural frame.
Therefore - I think - a less heavy frame in a softer colour might be more pleasing to the eye.
Enjoy the rest of your evening
Kind Regards
Ingrid
