[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a six week old Baringo (Giraffe camelopardalis rothschildi) giraffe taken at the Wild Animal Park in San Diego. The neck is crooked from birth and will eventually straighten out as the muscles become stronger. Mom was standing behind the giraffe watching over him in the shade of the palm tree.

This giraffe is also known as the Uganda or Rothschild's giraffe. It is native to Kenya and Uganda. This is the tallest of the giraffe subspecies. The name giraffe is derived from the Arabic zarafah, meaning "one who walks swiftly". The translation of the Latin camelopardalis is "camel marked like leopard"

Wow, Cathy. That baby giraffe is adorable. I added him to my theme of Animal Babies. You caught him in a wonderful pose. The POV is fantastic, and I like your composition, with the shadow line crossing the field in a diagonal. A great post. I can't wait to see your other pictures of San Diego animalia. Thank you for sharing, and a warm welcome to TN. : )

Hi Cathy.
This shot has a great cute factor.
This baby is beautiful.
Thanks and welcome to TN.

Hello Cathy and welcome to TN.

I like this picture as it is very cute. The picture is pretty sharp and the pose of the Baby Giraffe is just so adorable. I do think the shade of the tree is very disturbing. I also think the shade on the head of the Giraffe makes his face look blueish and some parts of the legs are slightly overexposed. Composition is very good. Well done and TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Ps-I fixed you a workshop. I hope you like it.

Hi, Cathy--
Definitely a cute baby. Your focus is nice, and you have good depth of field. Well done. And welcome to TrekNature.
