Pink Monkeyflower
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
On Mount Adams on the way to Looking Glass Lake I spotted this Pink Monkeyflower in the middle of a small creek area. I'd only seen yellow ones before so this was a nice surprise on a very long hike. You can read more about the hike and see a photo of the lake on my trekearth photosite.
Pink Monkeyflower: Mimulus lewisii
Family: Scrophulariaceae, Figwort
Edible Uses:
The leaves and stems of pink monkeyflower are edible, raw or cooked. They likely have a slightly bitter flavor.

Hi Lori,
A colorful and very beautiful flower. Again the water droplets really enhance this shot. I love the silver fuzz on the base of the flower

Beautiful, Lori. The colors are vibrant and I love the water droplets! The soft BG makes the flower stand out even more... the texture is nicely highlighted. Excellent and thanks for sharing this find from your hike. :-)
