David, this shot is, in my opinion, at the same time, funny and dramatic.

Funny because the birds seem rather... funny. Dramatic because it depicts a crucial moment.

Superb shot David. What an excellent capture. The egret is so sharp and the catch of the fish in his mouth is an added bonus. Very well done.

Hi David, You've got a nice shot here - welcome to wildlife photography :). I do like it, I'd like to capture Snowy Egrets or Little Egrets myself, they are wonderful looking birds. It is a bit noisy in places and I find the lines of the boat a bit distracting, though I realise that is a personal thing - you could argue they place the birds in their surroundings. I do appreciate the way you've placed the birds *between* the lines though so that they do not interfere with the birds themselves. I've done a workshop to show what can be done to improve the noise and deal with the lines (if you want to remove them yourself). It is a sharp shot and well timed as everyone has said. Also it it well exposed and I think the composition and DOF are excellent. I think you've done a wonderful job on this, TFS :)
