| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This glistening example of Rudbeckia fulgida, perhaps most commonly known as "Black-Eyed Susan" was visible in abundance, fresh with morning dew just after sunrise yesterday at our local nature preserve. A common and hardy late-summer perennial, it is very much in its glory around our area just now.
In the repost, I have lassoed the center of the flower within The Gimp, used curves to selectively lighten the red channel, increased the brightness of the selection (10) and contrast (5), and then sharpened the selection.
BTW -- I called this "Storm of Gold" because a variant of this flower is sometimes called "Goldsturm," and I like the way that conveys some of the drama and vibrancy of this flower's colors. |
