I watched this bird for 53 minutes in about 100 degree heat. He had the patience to wait things out and got his fishy reward. My reward is the pictures I got of this magnificent, first year, Great Blue Heron. His youth has made him less than cautious. By next year I won't get within 100 meters!!

Hi Thomas, this photo deserves two points for the subject matter alone. This is a pretty rare shot and the lighting conditions were not in your favor. With some post processing I think the technical aspects can be improved. You have the makings of a very special photo here. I did a quick workshop on it and I hope it gives you some ideas. Thanks for tolerating the heat to get this photo to share with us!
