Another shot from along the Potomac River last weekend - this heron waited with infinite patience, and little luck, for his chance to catch dinner, but the river and reflection have a very calming effect.

Great scenery Alan, most people tend to zoom in on these kind of birds, but I like the placement of him iin this riverscape very much. Colors and sharpness are very nice, but you compisition is really good in this one. TFS

Wow, Alan. Potomac River sounds great. I like wide format of your picture. Heron is good visible and for me its size isn't a problem. Very nice reflections of trees. Good work!

Hi Alan, this is a very nice atmospheric shot. I like the stillness of it with the heron placed in a position that the eye is drawn easily to.
