Very well done Chris. Excellent POV and DOF. Great sharpness & detail. I like this. Thank You & have a Great weekend.
Good clear shot.
Question: Are there any snake species with an elliptical pupil that are not venomous?
I know there are some with round pupils that are venomous such as the American Coral Snake.
Thanks for sharing.
Regards,
Dave

Chris, of all of your critters, I think I like this one the best. The DOF, coloring and your bringing the eye into the photo as you did gives him character. Good capture
I noticed you use your 90mm lense for this shot. I just got my Nikon Macro 105mm lense recently and love it. On my snake pictures I did not have that lense yet but used my 28-70mm with close up filters as my macro 60mm could not reach into the habitat boxes for good DOF.

Extraordinary sharp and vivid photo. Reading your explanation is like receiving a free lesson in close up photography.
TFS, Chris!
