Painted Cliffs
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Painted Rocks and Painted Cliffs is a common name in the High Country of Arizona. The erosion that occured (and still do nowadays) on the plateaus from Northen parts of this state, unveiled the sandstone, offering the posibility to see the layers that formed in different geological times. Grand Canyon is most eloquent example, however there are hundred places here where you can remark that.
The Painted Cliffs from this photo are situated in NE, close to the old 66 route, just few miles away from New Mexico state border. Unlike other rugged and ridged cliffs around here, this one look smooth, like some petrified dunes.
I took this photo in a very early morning, being surprised by the sunrise's gradually lighting this stones. I took several shots, from when the sun was only spoting the tops, till the stones were completly lighten. This frame is one from the middle of that series. |

Hi Petru,
Great picture!
Excellent lighting and composition,
beautiful colours.
TFS!
What a picture this would be if you would just get that darn noise out the trees!
Hello Petru!
It's fantastic place with great view. It would be nice to see that but your photo shows a lot of its beauty.

Hi Petru!
As Radu said, the noise is disturbint, but the picture is great. You capture a beautifull light, a fantastic blue sky with nice clouds. If I ignore the noise, that you can eventually correct, this is great work. TFS.
Hi Petru,
Great composition and lovely colours! Digital noise from scanning is disturbing, but can probably be reduced by passing through NW or NI
