You have got to love Florida, its the bird capital of North America. I am orginally from Hollywood Fla. and have spent countless hours in the swamps, dearly miss the photo ops provided. Excellent shot, good detail and exposure.

Hi Gabi,

You did well with this capture and composition.
It's a bit busy around the subject, too many distractions, but, hey, that's nature.
A bit of p.p. to get the focus on, as it was a difficult shot to focus with auto. In sittuations like this, it's best to go manual.
Well done on the sharpening to save it.

I love the composition. The out of focus yellow flowers from FG. gives depht to the photo.

This is a great capture. Well done. The sharp attentiove bird is well framed by the yellow flower. Really a good (different) shot.

A very interesting composition, Gabi. Great blue herons are not usually seen with all these flowers. I really like his pose with the neck stretched just so. Lots of tension. The stare is very intense. Details are very sharp and exposure is excellent. Well done and TFS. )

One of the most interesting photos of heron I've ever seen. The blurred flowers in FG create nice depth and overall superb look of the whole shot.

I do enjoy composition, pov and colors a lot.

I enjoyed Howard's workshop, for through it the shot becamer slightly sharper.

Excellent portrait Gabi!

Sharpness and exposure are perfect. Shallow DOF is beautiful, concentrating attention on the bird. Composition is well balanced and those yellows flowers make some kind of frame within your frame.
