Welcome to TN Michel, good image,a little crampt for space round him and alittle in shadow at the front, but what gives me problems is that you dont make it clear where this was taken, and surely there is a story to the blood on his butt.We are no encouraging Zoo shot with-out a good set of note to explain why.

I thought Alaska was all snow - ha ha, It would be nice if you can explain where about in Alska this is, something about the climate - I see it is high summer, and these guys wonder in from the east and north, but please enlighten us a bit.

I am hoping to go to Kaktovik this September. Every year the village does a whale hunt and this, as well as the ice pack, attracts the polar bears to the area. I've heard that you can often see them at the airport. I hope I get a find like this one.

Location and Climate
Kaktovik lies on the north shore of Barter Island, between the Okpilak and Jago Rivers on the Beaufort Sea coast. It lies in the 19.6-million-acre Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, home to the Porcupine caribou herd. It lies at approximately 70.13194° North Latitude and -143.62389° West Longitude. (Sec. 13, T009N, R033E, Umiat Meridian.) Kaktovik is located in the Barrow Recording District. The area encompasses 0.8 sq. miles of land and 0.2 sq. miles of water. The climate of Kaktovik is arctic. Temperatures range from -56 to 78. Precipitation is light, at 5 inches, with snowfall averaging 20 inches.
