[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Painted Desert is the area bordering east the Colorado River and Grand Canyon. It is under Navajo Nation administration and part of the Little Colorado River Gorge Navajo Tribal Park.
This is a true desert; barren land with little or no vegetation. The colour diversification of Arizonan landscape is made here by the layered sandstone that covers the multitude of the mounds scattered all over this arid plateau. You can see on this layers the entire visible spectrum, from the black layers changing toward lighter colours and going back to dark in only several meters of relief energy.
This photo is a characteristic view of the area.

Very pretty desert landscape Petru!
Amazing the skills the native denizens needed to survive out there, now all we have to do is find the nearest super wal-mart.
Nice combination of elements in this one, blue sky, white clouds, and harsh desert...
