I think any attempt to catch a bird in flight is challenging and you have done well to get this bird in action as well as its body facing you.

I love the pose and the sharpness of this shot.
I don't know about your head, but you must have had a very steady hand to outline this bird for the gaussian blur. Excellent job, my friend. : )

Great dynamic shot of this bird, excellent job on PP which results in a very good composition. BG well complements the action, as it has these blurred lines suggesting something explodes. Very good light on the head and body of the bird with a small shadow covering only part of the neck. Beautifully spread-out motion-blurred wings. Overall a bit soft, suggest a bit of sharpening.

Hi Howard,
The post processing work has made this an excellent shot. I have started practicing my in flight shots, but have a long way to go. The body and head are well detail. Just enough blur in the wings to inply great motion.
