Beluga Whale
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The adorable Beluga Whale (NOT a Manatee, I stand corrected!), sadly photographed not in the wild, but at Mystique Aquarium, in New England. I love big cuddly things, much better than bears.
I had to crop the picture to knock the other tourists out, then the colours needed boosting. I was happy with the end result as you cannot tell there was a thick sheet of glass separating us. |

Amazingly, I've never seen a good picture of a manatee, those strange and I think endangered creatures. So, thank you. This is mighty good considering the difficulties you describe.
John
Hello Paul,
Good image, but it`s a white whale or beluga.
Regards

I also vote for the beluga whale.
Nice shot through the glass, Paul...and nice cropping. I'm pretty sure it isn't a manatee, though they have some similarity to a beluga.

What a precious beluga, Paul. Great POV.
Now that I look at it more carefully, and prompted by the others' call, I agree that this is a beluga. There are quite a few beluga shots on TN, two of them from me. Thanks for sharing this great shot of an equally endangered animal.
Well done and TFS. : )
That's better ;) The lighting is a little dull, but that can't be helped in the circumstances. Very strange animal..
