This is what I believe to be a Hawaii Brazillian Cardinal. I looked all over the internet and found pictures that looked very close to what I shot.
This was taken on a trip I was in last week in Hawaii. The only post processing in in the boarder. Enjoy. |

Hello Brian, and a belated welcome to TN!
This is a wonderful capture with great detail, colors, and pose.
My only nit with this otherwise wonderful composition is the tight crop, which has lost part of a toe, is too close to the beak and tail. IMO.
Thank you for posting, and I hope to see more of your work with the 20D.

Bonjour Brian!
Cet oiseau est magnifique et très original avec tête rouge vif. Félicitations pour les belles couleurs parfaitement exposé et le bel éclairage.
Merci pour l'envoie.

Hi Brian,
A cute capture with an unusual POV.
I am not sure that it is a Hawaiian Brazilian Cardinal, aka Red crested cardinal. I just posted a red crested cardinal the other day. Mine has a red patch on the chest while yours has a black patch there. Also yours is missing the crest associated with cardinals. Unfortunately I cannot tell you what yours is. Hopefully a more experienced birder on TN will be able to help. TFS. : )
Hi Brian
Great shot. Nice pose with very good exposure, just cropped too tight for my liking and the frame is too bulky.
