[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This industrious little fella is one of the most vocal of the squirrels. The Red Squirrel is much smaller and more wirey in temperament than the Gray Squirrel, another common spiece in North America.

Red Squirrels are often found where there are lots of conifer trees and they store pulled apart pine cones in summer for consumption at a later date. Mushrooms are also an important staple in their diet and they are known to be quite chef-like by haning the 'shrooms upside to dry, then store them for a rainy day!

The most common place to find their nests in is a tree hollow, but they will also sometimes make it in the branches or on occassion a ground burrow.

I do enjoy seeing these spirited pranksters when I walk the sanctuary. My own yard is filled with Gray Squirrels, but not a Red one insight or remotely near me, yet the sanctuary about 15 miles north of me is filled with Reds and very few Grays.

This little fella watched me intently and moved along with me with fast but short staccato movements and at one point stopped and opened his little mouth and belted out an alarm type call. Sure made me chuckle.

What a cutie. We have them also but they are not very abundant. I've only seen one maybe 3 or 4 times in my whole life. Nice shot.

You have some chance to get a picture like this one, very nice and close, maybe with a zoom?.
Colors are superb, thanks.

Deux écureuils le même jour, quel bonheur ! Cette photo est magnifique ! Tout est bien, le sujet, les couleurs, la netteté, etc.
Congratulations Lesley, wonderfull !!!!!!

Excellent. I think I can see each and every hair on the tail. Tack sharp! I wish we had some of them "grey or red" where I stay. They are such cute critters. Great shot, nice note.

Very good Lesley.
Nice colours and good details.
It looks like mine.
The difference between yours and mine are the crests of the ears in my squirrel.
Well done.
