[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this beetle that I do not know the name of in the forest on my way to the Bird Creek Meadows on Mt. Adams. I used my diopter filter #4 to illuminate the scene and make the surrounding plant unfocused the further away from the focusing point.
The beetle was about two inches long and without the pollen it would have been all black if I remember correctly.
Any idea to what this is would be helpful...

hi steven, I think this insect was a cosmosalia Chrysocoma. Your picture are not very clear. Bye You can't see a picture of this beetle in photo. Well done
