[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this shot with a Sigma 400mm F5.6, a lens I no longer own.
The Columbia White Tail Deer was on the endangered species list as they are only known to exist in a very minute region of Washington State and Oregon. In the past ten years they have been taken off the list as their population has grown and other herds have been located in Oregon. This buck was captured at the Federal Columbia White Tailed Deer Refuge in Cathlamet, Washington.
there is also a large Elk herd that ventures into the refuge during the winter months, and there are years when the population is too large for the refuge to accomodate and they are transported by helicopter to another range. They are first herded into the corral and their antlers cropped to not cause injury during transport to one another.
There is a trail that disects the refuge that offers views of Deer, Elk, Eagles, all types of wintering ducks and geese, coyotes, and many raptors as Harriers, Red Tails, and Owls.

Hello Steven,
Good shot, I like the views of deers, and this is nice. The background is very noisy. I prepare a workshop.
