California Sea Lion
Zalophus califonianus

This playful, noisy animal occurs from Baja California to Alaska.They are very vocal and bark like dogs. The California Sea Lion prey on schooling fish, rockfish, squid, flatfish, hake, lamprey, dogfish and salmon. It is highly adaptable to any surrounding and use a variety of habitats.
This photo was taken in San Francisco, where a 50-100 individuals colony come to rest right near the docks.

Hello Petru! I like too much this lazy guys! Your picture shows exaclty what I saw many years ago in SF, around Fisherman's Wharf. Excelent timing shoting this first sea lion like a guardian for his family dreams! Nice to see it! Tfs!
